Mary Jane Potter is a consultant on emerging markets private equity fund development and was formerly the Portfolio Manager for the $400 million private equity fund, the AIG African Infrastructure Fund.  Prior to joining AIG, she worked for Chase Securities (and its predecessors, Manufacturers Hanover Trust Company and Chemical Securities).  Ms. Potter has worked and traveled in 21 African countries, has volunteered for short-term assignments at refugee camps in Kenya and Somalia, and travels to Africa 2-3 times each year. She was elected to the AMREF USA Board in April 2003 and as Treasurer in 2004.  She holds a MIA (Masters in International Affairs) from the School of Public and International Affairs at Columbia University.  She was elected chairperson in late 2005.  Residence:  New York, NY.
