Empowering Young Women in 21st Century Africa

 

During the United Nations General Assembly Week 2018, Amref Health Africa is hosting a panel discussion on empowering women in 21st century Africa – featuring advocates for change, using the tools of the present. This dynamic discussion around using innovative ideas to empower young women to create change in their communities across sub-Saharan Africa will feature Nice Nailentei Leng’ete, one of the 2018 Time 100 Most Influential People in the World, and Anti-FGM Activist, Dr. Githinji Gitahi, Amref Health Africa’s Global CEO, and Evalin Karijo, who is working with Amref Health Africa and The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to train youth advocates across Kenya to engage lawmakers on reproductive health issues.

 

The panel will be moderated by Antonia Hylton of Vice News Tonight and Vice on HBO.
