Charity Navigator awards Amref Health Africa with NINTH straight 4-star rating

Charity Navigator, America's premier independent charity evaluator, has once again awarded Amref Health Africa a 4-star rating. This is the highest rating awarded for sound fiscal management - and we have received it nine years in a row!

Increasingly, donors are demanding "accountability, transparency and quantifiable results" from organizations they support - as they should. Charity Navigator's President acknowledged that Amref Health Africa belongs to a very small, select group of highly efficient and responsible charities by stating that "only 1% of the charities we rate have received at least nine consecutive 4-star evaluations, indicating that Amref Health Africa consistently executes its mission in a fiscally responsible way, and outperforms most other charities in America. This ‘exceptional’ designation from Charity Navigator differentiates our organization from its peers and demonstrates to the public it is worthy of their trust."

We value your support of Amref Health Africa’s comprehensive range of medical and public health programs, which provide health solutions for Africans by Africans. Eighty-seven cents of every dollar we spent went directly to our work in Africa. We are currently the largest health development organization based in Africa, with over 90% of our staff of more than 2,000 living in the communities in which we work.

Amref Health Africa is a beacon of hope for tens of millions of people in Africa, every year. We mend bodies and spirits, devise and implement health programs that focus on the most critical health issues, such as offering maternal and child health services to reduce maternal and child mortality rates; training health workers to build local capacity in communities across Africa; providing access to clean water; bringing health services to remote rural areas; and distributing bed nets to prevent malaria.

Support our work; make a contribution.

A regular donation of $25 a month is enough to transform the lives of a family. Over the course of three years, it could provide a family in Uganda with clean water, better sanitation, health and education facilities, help to improve agricultural practices, and empower the community to become more involved in local governance.
