Healthcare Strategist and Entrepreneurial Advisor


Roshan is a healthcare strategist and entrepreneurial advisor passionate about leveraging innovative, collaborative, and sustainable business-solutions toward solving complex and long-standing global health challenges. 

  • With more than a decade of experience in healthcare, Roshan’s specializations and interests include:
  • Developing strategies that involve public-private partnerships and multi-stakeholder collaborations which enhance health outcomes 
  • Leveraging private sector nonmarket strategy and corporate social responsibility approaches in facilitating access to care in emerging global markets
  • Designing alternative financing mechanisms (e.g. impact investing, social venture funds) and navigating the use of innovative, sustainable business models in global health 


Most recently, in the private sector, Roshan was Vice President at Rabin Martin, where she managed a multidisciplinary client portfolio and a dynamic team that advised pharmaceutical companies, multilateral institutions, and nonprofit organizations on strategies to address barriers in access to medicines, policy implementation, supply-chain management, health systems and services, and intellectual property.  Prior to Rabin Martin, Roshan spent over eight years at Xcenda/AmerisourceBergen where she advised leading multinational pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies on US health policy and economics, comprehensive product commercialization, and strategy development for enhancing patient access to care, with specific expertise in oncology.  She also has experience within the nonprofit sector from her time working at a health policy organization where she led related advocacy and education initiatives in HIV/AIDS, hepatitis B, and diabetes for Asian American and Pacific Islander populations.  Over the years, Roshan has engaged with the academic sector at the University of California, San Francisco, the University of Cape Town, and the University of Ghana, which included work in HIV/AIDS, economic development, and innovative social enterprises.  She has researched and written about the status of HIV/AIDS and women’s health in Eastern European and Middle Eastern countries as well.


Roshan earned her MBA (healthcare) from Yale University, her MPH (international public health) from New York University, and her BA (international public health) from the University of California at Berkeley.  She was elected into the Board of Directors at Amref Health Africa - USA in November 2016.  Roshan spends her time between San Francisco and New York.
